Digital Color Palettes

Image
For this design, the color actually made the design stand out a bit more. I made the colors go in a row so that it created a gradient as you went down the design and I also got rid of the black as the background and replaced it one of the colors that was the darkest on the color pallet. I chose to use the monochrome pallet as I felt that it would work more with this semi complex design rather than a simple design.  For this design, I used each of the colors to make each side show the colors of the pallet. I used the Analogous color pallet and split it so that the colors went from left to right with the final color at the bottom being the edge of the design.  For this design, I split the design into two different sides; teal which went from the left and bottom, and orange which went from the right and top. I used complementary to get two colors that'll both split the design and also match the design. I left the black parts in because I felt that if I were to make them co...

Recreating Repetition

Image
This design was probably the most challenging of all my designs to make due to how I made it. I had to find a way to have all parts of the design without breaking the design. I had to find the perfect organization order where the lines were above the triangle lines and both were above the black background while keeping the triangle that were made with 2 lines white. This design also had me using the most tools like the pen tool, shape tool, the fill color, arrange, and transform. This design was pretty simple but was one that I changed since I wasn't happy with how the original design looked. The original had two of the lines that start with horizontal lines then two lines that start with horizontal lines then another vertical line one. I changed this to alternate between horizontal and vertical and removed the last row as I felt it didn't fit and didn't show repetition that much. Other than that this design was pretty simple to make and I utilized rotation. I liked how t...

Analog and Digital Color

Do Now: -  To understand that light is additive (mixing of different RGB colors) and that pigments are subtractive (reflects RGB light) -  To understand that RGB and the colors on a screen don't accurately show how it will be shown when printing. This is where CMYK (subtractive) comes in. - Quality is sacrificed when digital printing compared to commercial printing when it comes to professional jobs. - CYMK is useful when doing printing work as it accurately shows the colors when printed while RGB is better for digital work as it can create a large amount of colors that can be utilized in the design.  Main Activity: 1. What are pixels?  Pixels are small dots that make up images on a screen. 2. How is color viewed in computer monitors? Pixels emit different colored lights and multiple lights from pixels come together to make an image and show on the screens. 3. What is the additive color space? Additive color space is the mixing of Red, Blue and Green colo...

6 Columns on 2 Page Spread

Image
This was an interesting project and I like how we were able to get creative with what we did with the spread. I was able to learn how to use the text wrap tool and while I understand how it works, the precise details and how to correctly wrap the text is probably something I have to work on. I did like the creative aspect of this project and how we had to make some sort of story with the images we choose as that allowed me to be creative with my imagination and end up making some random story about a cat being an artist and being inspired to make a painting after multiple attempts that were thrown out and finally creating a painting that they like which is a picture of a cat thats a clown. I liked this project because it taught me about both spreads and text wrapping which I believe are 2 useful things to know when designing stuff and will help me with other designs in the future. I had fun with that part and would be willing to do more projects like this in order to get a better under...
