Recreating Repetition

 


This design was probably the most challenging of all my designs to make due to how I made it. I had to find a way to have all parts of the design without breaking the design. I had to find the perfect organization order where the lines were above the triangle lines and both were above the black background while keeping the triangle that were made with 2 lines white. This design also had me using the most tools like the pen tool, shape tool, the fill color, arrange, and transform.



This design was pretty simple but was one that I changed since I wasn't happy with how the original design looked. The original had two of the lines that start with horizontal lines then two lines that start with horizontal lines then another vertical line one. I changed this to alternate between horizontal and vertical and removed the last row as I felt it didn't fit and didn't show repetition that much. Other than that this design was pretty simple to make and I utilized rotation.




I liked how this one came out as on paper all the lines looked the same and didn't have varying thickness like how I wanted it to look. The lines also weren't that straight so when making it digitally I fixed these two issues that the original design had.


This design was pretty straight forward. All I had to do was the math to get things to look right and create shapes that would be used in the design. The measurements were a bit challenging as I had to find out what would make it look both neat and identical to the original image.



This design was pretty simple and straight forward. Wasn't that hard to make as it was just shapes that I had to make and change the color for 3 of the boxes in order to make it look the how it did on paper and it was easy to find the measurements as all I had to do was 8/6.




Just like the previous design it was simple to make and not hard at all. I used the measurements form the other design to get the size of the boxes and then started to reduce the width of each box by 2 as the design went on. This created the hourglass shape that I originally made.

Branded Ad Did Your Logo Do Well In The Ad? I think my logo did do well in the ad. The white color I put on it drags your eyes to it first since it contrasts with the dark colors on the ad. I also think its a good way to incorporate it on there as adding the logo to the bean would seen off and in this ad I'm not promoting one specific product but rather the brand as a whole so it made more sense to just leave it near the top of the ad. The logo stands out but not so much that it is the center of attention and allows you to gradually go from looking at the logo then the bean in the middle and then the text of the ad. If I were to change anything then I'd probably use my logo to promote a product. Putting my logo on a cup of coffee, can of coffee, or coffee bean bag would make more sense than leaving it at the top if I were to promote a product. Logo Development

 Pencil Roughs For my pencil roughs, I decided to go with a few variations for half of the names I had because I wasn't really leaning towards one specific name at the time. During this process I spent a few days going over my names and what I wanted to do with them. With the names Torres, Alpine Sip, and Kosmik I had somewhat of an idea on what to do for them. For Torres I wanted to go for a script or transitional font in order to make the word Torres stand. For Alpine Sip, I had the idea of making a graphic of the alpine region. Finally for Kosmik, I decided to do a spacey idea, focusing on the cosmos, constellations and other aspects of space.  I personally found some of these sketches to be fun to make and I enjoyed making while others I didn't know what to do and decided to make something I believed fit the font. I feel like I could improve by taking better pictures of the images and maybe putting more thought and effort into those designs I wasn't motivated in making....

My Brand - Initial Ideas

  1. My brand belongs in the Beverage industry 2. The main product or service would be Coffee 3. The motivation of my brand would be to provide affordable and high quality coffee to customers 4.  Pleasant, Generous, Tasty 5. 3 values are to be affordable, have great quality, and have uniqueness to stick out from others,  6. I would like to have a sort of late modern/art deco/arts & crafts style with an aesthetic that represents Central America, 1–500 A.D. or Iberian Peninsula, 1400–1600 A.D. or Medieval  7. High Quality Coffee for Low Affordable Prices. 8. The demographics would be adults or anyone who enjoys coffee. There wouldn't be a gender limit because everybody drinks coffee and isn't specific to 1 gender. As for age it would mainly be targeted towards adults but also includes teens as there are some teens that drink coffee and while there are some kids who have coffee, it isn't directly intended for them.  9.
