Picasso Painting
In this project I used the brush tool to do many different things in order to replicate the original. I used both the brush tool and mixer brush with the brush tool being used to put the colors onto the right spot and then I used the mixer brush in order to blend some of the colors and add texture and detail to the image. I also used different brush styles in order to make some of the details and changed the scale of the brush in order to make some of the minor details or to make things like the background since it would be easier to make it with a larger brush. I also used the eye dropper to get some of the colors I needed that were close to the original color which was helpful in making both the image and shading relatively accurate to the original image. This part taught me quite a bit as I knew about the brush styles and size changing but the mixer brush was unknown to me. This was really helpful as it allowed me to learn a lot about how the mixer brush worked and while I don't have a full 100% understanding of the tool, I do understand how it works.
The Jacqueline aux Fleurs painting is one of Pablo Picasso's works which translates to Jacqueline with flowers. This piece was a way to commemorate his new wife at the time Jacqueline Roque who was his second wife after his first one passed away. When he first saw her, he saw a resemblance to a women in in Delacroix's Women of Algiers. This inspiration led to Picasso creating the art piece in a classical, Mediterranean style as he saw the beauty in those in Jacqueline.
