Non-Destructive Image Adjustments

Image
Non-Destructive Image Adjustments are modifications to images that don't permanently change or destroy the pixels and allows them to be edited in a different way when needed. This method helps designers by allowing them to change the pixels that they desire while not permanently altering them so if they want to go back and restart or change a certain aspect, then they have the pixels perfectly intact to do so. I learned that with color fill it makes the entire image a solid color. This would cover the image you are trying to adjust and due to this lowering the opacity would help the image be more clear. I learned that you could kind of get the same effect as color fill through gradient fill. I also learned that playing around with the gradient affect can get you gradients on different parts of the image.  I learned that brightness and contrast are used to make the image look more light and less dark and contrast makes those darks of an image pop out more. I learned that lev...

Robot Final

Image
Rough Final This project was pretty fun and allowed me to express a creative side of me and had me thinking about many different things related to a theme I chose to make a robot. I had to think of a lot of things but it was challenging thinking about what items would fit my robot. I used the lasso tool and multiple different selection tools in order to make my robot look good but I used the layer via copy in order to make the parts rather than the mask tool which I forgot about and led me to loosing points on my rough. For the background, I wanted to do a park as that would fit the idea I had of stuff you'd use if you were at a picnic like tin foil, a tray, soda can, bottles, and other stuff. Most of the images I found were large but were also too small to be scaled up for the background. This was a huge challenge as it led me to stray away from the park idea and move to a path into a park. It also had a bit of fun playing around with perspective, distort and skew in order to ge...

Image File Formats

Raster (Bitmap)  Raster images are graphics that use pixels (bitmap) and are typically used in photography.  There are many different raster file formats like jpg (jpeg), png, psd, heic, tiff, raw, bmp, and gif. jpg stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group. This a way to compress images into a smaller size for them to be shared. png stands for Portable Network Graphic. This type of file that is lossless and is most often used for web graphics. psd stands for Photoshop Document. This is the file type that results from exporting image files from photoshop and is used for creating and editing images. heic stands for High Efficiency Image Container. It is an older file format that compresses images more efficiently.  tiff stands for Tagged Image File Format. It is a file format used to store raster files that preserves the quality of images.  Camera Raw are uncompressed and unedited images that could be edited. bmp stands for Bitmap Ima...

300ppi vs 72ppi Resolution

  1. The difference between 300ppi and 72ppi is the amount of pixels that makes up an image with the 300ppi image being more clear than the 72ppi one. ppi stands for pixels per inch and is the amount of pixels that are per inch of the image, for example 1 inch in length would be 72 pixels in lengths as that is how many pixels are in each inch and if it was 2 inches then it would be 144 pixels with each inch being 72 pixels. The one with higher pixel density in each inch would lead to higher quality as there would be more pixels making up the image and the reverse being for lower detail. 300ppi would be more detailed and larger than a 72ppi which would still be detailed but instead smaller. 2. It is important for graphic designers doing print projects as the resolution of an image could be represented in the print. If they are doing print work, then a 72ppi would fit more than a 300pii one if the image being used is small and used in a portion of the print. With 300ppi it would fit ...
